The world has changed - but wine tasting is still really fun!

I will conduct a fun and informative guided tasting of three different wines. Although virtual, I design this to be a fully-interactive experience. Participants will be engaged in an organoleptic tasting analysis; each wine will be evaluated by sight, smell, and taste. I will provide background about the wineries, winemakers, regions, and varietal characteristics. I will also provide additional context by clarifying key wine terms. For example, what does it mean when a wine is “dry” or “off-dry”? How does this distinction differ between red wines and white wines? How do you differentiate between acidity, tannins, and phenolic bitterness? What is the best way to determine if a wine is sound or flawed? These are just a few examples. This part of the experience generally “evolves” depending on participants’ knowledge and interests. Tastings generally last about 90 minutes, but I am very flexible on my end. My fee won’t change if the group is so engaged that the tasting runs longer than expected!
